NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Officers and members of community service organizations assume substantial responsibilities, and perhaps personal liability, for the time they donate to community service.  Directors and volunteers have every need to address risk the same as any commercial organization.  While some states provide varying degrees of immunity to directors and volunteers of nonprofit organizations, responsibility for many employment related issues fall under federal law.

With few exceptions I find the risk and insurance programs of nonprofit organizations to be handled poorly.

I have substantial experience with nonprofit organizations and have served (and chaired) a number of boards over a period of twenty-five years.  I understand the unique dynamic of community service in the context of business risk.
